“A child who reads will be an adult who thinks.” Unknown

It is World Book Day today. A chance to take some time out and read; to experience new places; to learn something new; to discover that you are not alone in your thoughts and feelings….

Today we are launching our part in the “Share a Million Stories” campaign. We have until the end of March to share as many stories as we can with 1, 2, 10, 20… other people. Each time you share a story you can record your share on a book share slip – to be found in the library, near the pupil drop box or from a teacher. The forms can be dropped into special boxes in the library, the Guidance area or staff can use the box in the staff room.

Each week our shares will be tallied and submitted. Our progress will be displayed on a tally counter in reception. We have set a school target of 5000 shares – let’s get reading!

For any S4-6 pupil interested in Accountancy or Finance: The University of Aberdeen would like to invite pupils interested in studying Accountancy/Finance to attend a visit to the Shell office in Aberdeen on 18th March. The event is open to S4 to S6 pupils who are interested in studying Accountancy and Finance related subjects at University. If you are interested please see Mr Cookson for more details.
