Each day the Interact group are sharing a story from the ‘The great war’ and following conflicts. For 102 years we have remembered those that we have lost. These are just a handful of examples but we have been moved by learning about each of them and their bravery.
Our first story:
The Harlem Hellfighters were a completely African-American regiment that fought in World War One. They were used by the French as segregation in the British trench to stop them fighting alongside the Brits. Two of the soldiers in the secretive regiment fought off an entire German night raid and have spent more time in combat than any other American regiment, which shows their skill in combat.
