On Friday 17th June the Eco and Interact Groups, organised a Fairtrade Bake Sale and a ‘Sponge the Teacher’ event. The Fairtrade bake sale involved delicious products baked by our very own Eco-group members and generous contributions from staff. The bakes included fairtrade ingredients and raised over £100 for the Fairtrade Foundation, which is part of the Green Flag Award Global Citizenship programme. The Sponge the teacher competition involved some brave staff volunteers who were restricted by our homemade wooden stocks (made by our very talented Miss Bradley) and involved the pupils paying to throw a saturated sponge at the staff. Mrs Wotherspoon and Mr Gardner were very popular choices, but all staff that took part were great sports and all sufficiently drenched by the end. This event raised over £100 for the Scottish Wildlife Trust, which is part of the Green Flag Award Biodiversity programme.
