Success at Minecraft Scottish Championships
Another almighty congratulations to The Sustainable Swagsters for grabbing second place in the Minecraft Scottish Championships at Abertay University last week after winning the Aberdeenshire competition last month. It was an intense 2 hour design and build session for S4 pupils Finlay, Riley and Ruaraidh with the teams being judged on both their design matching their build plus their team work, communication and collaboration throughout the very busy morning. There were IT issues for all teams and credit to them for coping really well and working together brilliantly and calmly even when being asked questions by the judges throughout the morning. The afternoon allowed the team to be given a tour of the University with the new £18 million Cyber Quarter Research and Development Centre blowing their minds with it’s very impressive facilities. The boys scooped loads of Minecraft goodies at the prize giving and deserve lots of credit for their performance throughout the competition.
The team are pictured receiving their prize from Professor Gregor White, Dean of Design & Informatics and Professor of Applied Creativity.
