On Tuesday 22nd November, our 5th year pupils had a great morning, with a study skills session provided by RGU. They then had the fantastic opportunity to be interviewed by local employers. 55 pupils were interviewed, online and in person, by representatives from – Barratt Homes – Acumen Financial Planning – Retired Detective Inspector, Police Scotland – RAF – Kirkwood Homes Ltd – Royal Navy – Neptune Energy – Air Accidents Investigation Branch (DfT) – DYW
The employers were gushing in their praise of our young people:
“Thank you for organising such an important event, from both the perspectives of the pupils and employers. Not only do the pupils get a valuable insight into typical questions they might be faced with at interviews, but we get to see a glimpse of the talent that is coming through the school. I was extremely impressed with the clarity of communication and thoughtful responses that I heard from S5 pupils – very well done!” – Niall Robertson – Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB)
Pupil feedback was incredibly positive, with all reporting they found the experience valuable and useful for their future careers:
“I found the interview went well. It felt very professional and I felt comfortable answering the questions under pressure. The feedback I was given was very useful and helpful and will definitely help me complete interviews in the future.”
Our S6 and any S5 who missed out this week, get the opportunity to take part on 6th December.
Well done S5! #teamalford!
