Daily Bulletin – Wednesday 28 August

Drama Club:  A new Drama Club is starting up after school on a Monday, beginning Monday 2nd September 3.45-4.45pm, open to all year groups. If interested, please collect a consent form from Miss Murray this week (Drama Studio, F0-33).

Lost Property: a black size 7 sketcher trainer was found last week in school.  If it belongs to you, could you please collect it from E150.

Girls Football: Junior and Senior girls football training will begin on Thursday 29th August from 3-4pm. Please collect a consent form from the PE department.

Daily Bulletin – Wednesday 26 October

Silver Duke of Edinburgh: There will be a short meeting during morning break on Thursday (D0-61) for all pupils who have expressed an interest in starting the Silver DofE programme.

Drama Club –S1-S3:  There is no Drama club this week.  We will start back next Thursday from 2:50-4:00pm. New members are always welcome.  Thanks.

Table Tennis Club – Starting on Monday Lunchtimes 13.30-13.55: All students are invited to join the Table Tennis Club, it does not matter if you are an experienced player or just looking to spend your lunchtime competing against your friends. The club will be run by S3 student and table tennis enthusiast Finlay Campbell in the games hall.

S1-S4 Robotics Club: starts up again today after school until 5pm.  Anyone interested in joining can come along and find out about us.  Robotics meets in the Research Area outside Computing.

Career Interviews: Wednesday 17th August

Please check paper bulletin for names and times for career interviews. The Careers Room is in the Medical Suite.  Please make every effort to attend. If for any reason you are unable to attend please let me know and another appointment can be arranged.

Senior Boys Football Training: Training is on this Friday at lunchtime from 1.20-1.50pm. Please be there for an early start. Indoor and outdoor footwear dependent on weather.

Senior Boys Football Meeting: Can all boys involved with the senior boys team please attend a meeting on Thursday 18th August at 10.30am in room DO-69 (Mr McEwan’s PSE room). This is to issue out consent forms for the season.

Drama Club S1-S3: Drama club will start up next week, Thursday 25th August. It is open to all S1-S3 pupils, please get a consent form from Mrs.McQuaker. The club will run from 2:50 – 4:00 every Thursday in the Drama Studio.

Daily Bulletin – Thursday 9 June

School Uniform Events: The uniform supplier Academy Uniforms Ltd will be at the Alford Community Campus on Saturday 11 June from 1:00-3:00 pm in the Dining Area. All parents and pupils are welcome to attend. There will be the opportunity for pupils to try on blazers, jumpers or cardigans to get the correct size and also collect any pre-ordered blazers for new S4 pupils (with the deliver to school option). There will also be limited stock available for purchase on the day (majority of sales are online).

There will be a follow up event on Tuesday 14 June in the Dining Area, Alford Community Campus. Open to pupils only 2:30-3:00 pm and parents from 3:00-6:15 pm. Academy Uniforms staff will be able to help with fittings, distribution of pre-order blazers, sales and replacements as above.

Ties are available to purchase from the School Office Monday to Friday 08:30 to 4:00 pm term time.

Former 2.5 Drama pupils:  All pupils who were in 2.5 Drama (Current 3rd years) please go to the Drama Studio at break time on Thursday to enjoy the treat that we discussed.

Alford Netball Club: The next training session is on Monday 13 June from 4-6pm for all year groups.  We are looking to enter the Scottish schools cup competition next term.  It is important that you attend the above training session if you are interested in being selected for the team(s).  This is for existing and new players.  More information about the cup will be given at the training session.

The School of Health Sciences at RGU are running “A Day in the Life of a Physiotherapist” at the Garthdee Campus on 5th September from 9.30am to 3pm.

This workshop is open to pupils who are considering a career in Physiotherapy.

All pupils going on work experience next week please attend a short meeting today at the start of breaktime in guidance offices

Work to be collected from Technical Dept:

Mr Sande’s previous S3 Class – collect their finished bird tables on Thursday afternoon.

Mr Duffy’s previous S2-S6 Practical Classes collect all projects and folio paperwork by Friday 17th June.

S4-6 Graphic Communication – collect all work other than final folio by Friday 17th June. Miss Woolley’s previous S2, N5 and Higher D&M Class – collect their folio and practical work before Friday 17th of June.

S3 Graphic Communication Folio Work – to be collected by 17th of June.

Work left after these dates will be thrown out or upcycled.

Bronze Duke of Edinburgh After School Meeting: There will be a meeting tonight from 3-4.30pm in D0-61 for all DofE participants who completed their Bronze practice expedition last month.  We will be planning route cards and maps for the qualifiers in September.  You must hand in a parental consent form to attend this meeting.

Royal Highland Show Trip: A meeting will be held in Room B1-22 (Dr Conway’s Room) at 10.20am on Friday 10th June, where paperwork for the RHS trip will be issued.  All those expressing interest should attend; a few places may still be available.

Daily Bulletin – Wednesday 8 June

S6 Team Building/Induction: All S6s pupils please go to D0-68/69 at 1:10 pm. Lunch is provided. S6 pupils will be involved in induction through to the end of P6 when they will go to their normal P7 classes.

Huge well done to our pupils for their achievements this year. Over the coming days pupils will be informed if they are to receive an award/s at our annual Awards Ceremony on Wednesday 22 June. All other achievements will be awarded at the end of session House Assemblies on Tuesday 28 June.

Circuit Training: will start again today from 4pm until 5.30pm in the Games Hall.  If you have not completed a consent form please collect one from PE.
