Duke of Edinburgh Update – There will be a short meeting for all DofE participants on Friday lunchtime at 12.45pm in the Theatre. It will only last 10 minutes, and everyone must attend (except for the two groups who have already been spoken to and who have already received letters).
I will let you know what DofE will look like and give out a letter explaining what we will be doing, including a tear off slip which must be handed in if you wish to complete your award this year.
Please make sure everyone in your group is aware of this meeting.
Young Musician of the Year: Last chance to enter! Application forms are available in B123 (Mrs Rees-Jenkins). Interact members will also be visiting classes and handing out forms to anyone who wishes to participate.
Duke of Edinburgh – Groups & Paperwork: Please come to the following meetings to choose your group and collect the appropriate paperwork. If a level is oversubscribed this is also when you will find out if you are on the reserve list. Anyone who does not attend will be allocated to a group.
Bronze – Tuesday 10.20-10.40am
Silver – Thursday 10.20-10.40am
Gold – Friday 10.20-10.40am
Duke of Edinburgh – NEW session: Any S3/4/5/6 pupil who wishes to participate in the DofE Award at Alford Academy this session must hand in a completed application form by the end of the school day on Thursday 10th October. Forms can be handed in at the black pupil drop box or the yellow DofE drop box found in the Maths corridor. If you do not have a form and would like one please speak to Miss Shepherd (C1-34) as soon as possible. All forms handed in after the deadline will automatically be added to the reserve list for that level.
