Student Council Leadership Roles 2018-19

This is a great opportunity to get to know pupils from all year groups.  You will have responsibility for gathering and sharing pupil views and working with staff to continue improving opportunities and experiences for all our pupils. JC Futures – School Leavers Programme:

Johnston Carmichael are an accredited ‘Investor in Young People’ company and as such offer school leavers support, structure and progression. This training opportunity is a six year programme and along with studying towards Chartered Accountancy qualifications, the programme includes hands on experience working in a real business environment on a wide variety of clients. The experience increases students’ confidence and competency levels as they work alongside experienced accountancy professionals. The students also benefit greatly from our study buddy and commercial mentoring schemes. We aim to retain the students following the completion of the programme, allowing them to progress further within the business.

Locations: Aberdeen, Elgin and Inverness.

The Aberdeen vacancy will be based within our Restructuring Department and is a unique opportunity to learn alongside our experienced team in assisting businesses through tough and challenging times and at the same time study towards the ICAS qualification

Minimum Entry: You should be aiming for or have a UCAS tariff of at least 135 points (or equivalent).  Whilst an Accountancy Higher is recommended it is not necessary.

YPI Finals 2016

Tonight’s YPI finals brought 5 highly talented and superbly rehearsed groups together to battle for the £3000 grant for their chosen charity.

The judges had the hardest of decisions trying to choose the winning group from such a fantastic range of presentations and worthy charities.

A massive congratulations to all who participated and who made the finals evening. But there could only be one winning group,received_1151049484984353 who were Eve Morgan, Lucy Maclean, Liam Troup, Tabby Allan and Sarah Trewin who were representing Dates-n-mates.

Skills Scotland are hosting a careers and skills events for young people in Aberdeen who are 14-19 years old. Now in its sixth year Skills Scotland Aberdeen is a one day event taking place at the AECC Aberdeen on Tuesday 1 November between 9.30 am and 3 pm.There will be  more than 22 Employers and Training Providers present and  It is expected that 2,500 visitors are expected to come along.

Izzy Tolometti – British Champion

Izzy competed at the British Challenge in Guildford on the weekend of 17th September. This is a competition for gymnasts who have not gone down a certain route to reach British Championships – an alternative route – but a high score is required to gain access to British Championships.

Izzy has competed in this competition now for 6 years and in that time British Gymnastics have increased their required score, making it even more difficult to qualify – especially as a senior. This year she not only got that score but she won the senior all-around section as well as Gold on Bars and Floor with a Bronze on beam. She now qualifies to compete at the British Championship in March (Liverpool) along side all the top gymnasts in GB which will include all the GB Olympic gymnasts!
