Children’ Mental Health Awareness Week

Schools Sit Together for Children’s Mental Health Week 2020.

Today at 12pm the Mindfulness in Schools Project are encouraging schools across the world to join in with a mindful 10-minute sit to raise awareness of the need for young people to develop skills to support their own wellbeing, both inside and out. Your participation in this will be at your teacher’s discretion but you can also do this independently in your own time by following these links:

Lunchtime today: please come and find out more about anxiety, depression, self-harm and eating disorders at our lunchtime drop in information event outside the theatre 1.30 – 2.00pm.

MVP Mentors will be available for any S1/S2 pupil who wish to see them about any matter in D0-67 every Thursday lunchtime starting from 6th February.

Watersports trip 2020: All those who have handed in consent forms and deposits now have a place on the trip.  There will be a meeting arranged to confirm next week.  We still have a few places for pupils in S1-S3 and would love to fill them, if you would like to find out more, or pick up a letter, please see Mrs Williams, Mrs Rae or Mr Scott.

Scotland’s Climate Champions: Could all pupils working on entries for the Scotland’s Climate Champions competition please have a digital version of their work to either Mrs Cameron or Mrs Rees-Jenkins by end of day Thursday 6th February. Please see Mrs Cameron if you have any questions.

U13 boys’ football:  Please see the noticeboard for the U13 boys 7 a side team for a tournament in Inverurie and collect a consent form.  Please also see the noticeboard for two upcoming home league matches and collect forms.

Soccer Sevens Football Tournament: Can all U15 Girls and U13 Boys who have been selected to play in this tournament make sure you return your parental consent form and bus money to Mr Cruickshank or Miss Shearer by Tues 4 Feb.  Thank you.

S4-6 Senior Boys: please let Mrs Rae or Mr McKay know by the end of Tuesday if you are available to play in the home tie against Mearns Academy on Wednesday 29th, 4pm KO.

Scotland’s Climate Champions: Calling all budding environmentalists! Do you have an interest in Climate Change? Would you like to make a positive change in Scotland?

The Hunter Foundation is offering a once in a lifetime opportunity to attend a high profile charity dinner at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh on the 18th of February.

If you were the leader of Scotland, what would you do? Your ideas could win you and 7 of your peers a table for David Attenborough’s key note speech.

All secondary ages are welcome. Meeting will be held in D061 (Geography) on Tuesday 28th January at 1:30.
