Daily Bulletin – Wednesday 22 February

Open to all N4/5 D+M and N5/Higher Graphical Communication pupils:  Mr Duffy is putting on a folio drop in session on Wednesday lunch times starting the 22nd of Feb in E-157 (Graph Com room).  For more information see Mr Duffy at break/lunchtime.

Astro Pitch:  With the better weather with us it is good to see that the Astro Pitch is being regularly used at lunchtime.  However it is extremely disappointing to see how much mess is being left on the pitch. It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure that the pitch is left tidy at the end of lunchtime. If this situation doesn’t improve then the pitch will be locked.

If anyone has information on who are responsible for the dropped litter please inform the PE dept – this will be dealt with confidentially.

Prefects and Senior Prefects:  Next prefect meeting will be in the double PSE rooms at 1.30pm on Friday.  Attendance is essential.  New prefect rotas are now up outside SLT offices.

Missing item now returned:  Many thanks for the safe return of the missing “green hand” to Modern Languages classroom D1-49. We have a number of accounts of the ”hand” completing the sponsored walk, so it is hoped some additional sponsorship money will be raised as a result of this feat!

For all pupils (library break time and lunch):  As from Wednesday 21st September pupils will only be permitted into the library during break and lunch to borrow/return books, relax and enjoy independent reading, take part in the traditional board games or join in groups that will be forming in the near future.  Remember, you don’t need to be in the library to access the wifi, you can access the wifi in the corridor outside the library.  Pupils accessing the wifi in the library during break and lunch will be asked to leave as pupils are not using this facility in an appropriate manner. If you are interested in forming a group and think the library would be the ideal space to meet speak to Mrs Coroon (Librarian).

For senior pupils:  The library is seeking two senior pupils to volunteer in the library on a Monday and Wednesday lunch time to support younger pupils with games, activities etc.  If you are available on either of these days please speak to Mrs Coroon (Librarian).  Note: this is an opportunity for anyone seeking DofE volunteering opportunities.

S6 Pupils: Register with Miss McIver outside SLT offices from 08:15 am. Also please see info for S6s posted up on Miss McIver’s office window from today. Any queries see Miss McIver.

Walkers: At time of writing, weather forecast for Thursday is good and current plan is for walk to go ahead tomorrow.

It is important that pupils dress appropriately for the walk tomorrow. Wear layers and bring a warm top/hoodie and a waterproof jacket. Wear boots or trainers with thick soles. There are no toilets in the forest so be prepared. Remember to take snacks and something to drink or take money to buy food – there will be soup, stovies and sweets to buy on the walk (but your NEC card will not work so you need cash!).  All pupils must check-in in the Pupil Entrance Foyer on return to school. Pupils remaining in school to the end of the day and pupils to be collected by parents will be allocated a classroom to wait in.

Non Walkers: If you have not handed in a consent form or a request for absence then it is assumed that you will be in school studying. You should have received a non-walker timetable and have gone round teachers to request work. If you have not completed that yet please see your teachers today and ask for work/study to be undertaken in school tomorrow. If you are taking part in the walk but have not yet handed in a consent form please see Miss McIver immediately.

Prefects and Senior Prefects: Meeting of all Prefects and Senior Prefects this Friday at lunchtime in the PSE Rooms.  Lunch is provided and attendance is essential.

Student Council: There will be a Student Council meeting today in Mr Findlay’s PSE Room. All members must attend.
