The SAMH Young People’s Panel (YPP) is made up of a dedicated group of young people aged 12-25 who are united by their passion to transform youth mental health in Scotland.
The panel are working together with SAMH teams to drive meaningful change through campaigns, services and raising awareness of the issues which matter to young people.
The panel has chosen mental health in schools as the focus of their work. They are currently working on two projects around this:
A campaign to introduce mental health link workers in secondary schools. Mental health link workers would be a non-clinical role, working with young people experiencing mental health problems to help identify and connect them with the right support for their needs.
Co-designing a resource for schools to help ensure they are a mental health-friendly environment. This resource would set out what schools need to do and how they can equip young people to take the lead.
We need your input!
To help shape this work, the panel is looking for young people (aged 10-25), school staff and parents/carers to complete a short survey to share your views and experiences.
The survey should only take 5-10 minutes to complete. Young people can earn 100 Young Scot points for taking part, and everyone who completes the survey has an option to enter a prize draw to win a £50 voucher!
Please share this onto anyone else who may be interested in taking part.
