Information to Parents re Tempest Photographer Monday 4 September 2017:
We hope that all parents have received the attached letter with information about the Tempest photographer visit on Monday which was sent out on Tuesday morning. We understand that a few S1 parents may not have received the letter via Groupcall so we are resending to those parents tonight. If you have not received this letter via Groupcall by tomorrow morning please contact the School Office on 019755 62251.
S5 and S6: There will be a meeting for all house captains in the PSE rooms today at 1.30pm.
Tempest photos: Wednesday 14th is the last day photo orders can be accepted by the office for free delivery to the school. Any orders which miss the deadline must be posted directly to Tempest. Please put all orders in the drop off box by the end of lunchtime on Wednesday.
Music: All pupils who wish to play in the Piano Recital Evening must have their entry slip, consent form and a copy of music handed to Mr Trueman by Friday this week. Late entries will not be considered.
Drama – HMT Panto trip: This trip is now full and we cannot accept any more applications or consent forms.
All Duke of Edinburgh Bronze and Gold groups: Bronze and Gold qualifying expeditions will not be passed until all group presentations have been completed. Please organise a time with your Supervisor before the end of term to present your expedition presentation. Thank you!
Astro Pitch at lunchtimes: Last Friday there was a large amount of litter left on the Astro pitch after lunchtime. This included half eaten tubs of food, baguettes, crisp, juice bottles, forks from the canteen, water bottles stuck in the fence etc. As well as the litter on the pitch it appears that some pupils are now throwing their rubbish over the fence and the surrounding area outside the pitch is now becoming littered. I have been told by some pupils that this mess is being left behind by the spectators and not the players. Once again it is everyone’s responsibility to make sure the pitch is clear of litter. If this situation doesn’t improve then the astro pitch will be locked at lunchtime. This is a teaching and community area and has to be clear of litter.
S1-S3 – Beat the Goalie: There will be a Beat the Goalie competition this Thursday lunchtime for S1-S3 pupils. Competition will be held at the astro pitches. All welcome – house points on offer!
Tempest Photos: Individual photos will be issued in MEL classes today, group photos were issued yesterday. All photo orders must be returned to pupil drop box by 5 September. Please ensure pupil name is on the order. A huge thank you to the S6 helpers who ensured the smooth running of the photography sessions yesterday.
Dungeons and Dragons: D&D will not run this Wednesday (31st) due to a staff meeting. We will resume again on Friday. Apologies for any inconvenience.
All pupils – hockey: Can all those participating in hockey at the Sports Village please come along to a lunchtime training session today from 1.10-1.50pm on the astro pitch. Please bring your lunch with you.
Bronze Duke of Edinburgh: There will be a kit check Wednesday lunchtime in D0-61 for all three groups out on their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Expedition this Friday. Participants are welcome to leave rucksacks with Mrs McDonald. All must attend.
All pupils – summer photo competition: A reminder that tomorrow (Wednesday) is the last day for handing photos in to the library to be entered into the competition. House points will be awarded to the winners. Good luck!
Tempest Photos – The School Photographer will be in school today. School uniform – including ties – must be worn. You will be released from lessons in your MEL groups during the periods shown on the plasma screen. Pupils make their way to the Theatre and line up in their MEL class in alphabetical order of surname (same as for fire drill). S6 pupils will assist. Once their photo is taken pupils must go straight back to class.
Family Photos – If your parent has requested a Family Photo ie one with you and your siblings, please arrange with your brothers/sisters to report to the Drama Studio at the following times on Monday lunchtime.
Surname A-L = 13:10 sharp

S1-S3 Lunchtime Netball Club: Lunchtime netball will be starting tomorrow (Tues 30th) for all S1-S3 girls. If you attend Monday training and will be part of one of the Scottish cup teams it will be extremely beneficial for you to attend. Training will be every Tuesday from 1.30-2.00pm in the games hall.
Astro Pitch: Thank you to the pupils who have been helping to keep the Astro pitch free of litter during lunchtime. There have been one or two items of rubbish left on the pitch. This is a reminder that it is everyone’s responsibility to remove all litter at the end of lunchtime.
Lost Property: Due to the hot weather last week lots of school jumpers and blazers have been left on the pitch. There are no names on these items so if you think one of them is yours please collect it from the box at the PE Dept. Thanks.
