At Alford Academy we view attendance and punctuality as important disciplines and part of life-long learning. Being late for class or frequently leaving the class disrupts the education of the individual while also being detrimental to learning and teaching for everyone within the classroom. In addition, pupil attendance is requested by employers/colleges and universities and unexplained poor attendance and late-coming can have an impact.

Our expectation is that pupils should be arriving to class promptly. Where pupils are late to class and/or out of class frequently and/or for long periods of time, their Guidance teacher will contact home to discuss this, to see how we can support the pupil to improve their attendance and late coming.
