U15 Girl’s Football Team
The Parent Council were delighted to be able to help fund new kit for the school’s U15 girl’s football team. Some of the team attended a Parent Council meeting to present what support they were looking for and undertook a sponsored run to assist with the funds. During summer term training they ran 150 miles around the school as a team, at a reasonable pace…not gentle!
Parent Council vs Parent Forum – What’s the difference?
If you have parental rights and responsibilities for a pupil at Alford Academy then you are automatically part of the wider Parent Forum. Every year 15 parents (the term “Parent” applies to parents, guardians and carers with parental responsibilities) are elected from the Parent Forum to form the Parent Council.
Everyone is welcome to Parent Council meetings, and can suggest agenda items and speak at meetings, the difference with being a Parent Council member is that if a decision goes to a vote only the 15 elected representatives are able to vote.
