The re-launch of Aberdeenshire Youth Forum is coming up in 2 weeks but we don’t have any young people (12-25) confirmed from Alford Area. We are keen to support youth voice in Alford and have a new member of staff covering the area. We be super if some young people could attend from Alford Academy. Please see flier and info attached as well as full invite below. If you have young people that might be interested, but not confident, we could arrange to come and speak to them about it.
Invite- We’re excited to announce the re launch of Aberdeenshire Youth Forum on Saturday 29th March, 10am-3pm, Inverurie Community Campus. Lunch will be provided as well as transport from most academy towns. (Includes Alford)
Young people at the event will have the opportunity to connect with other young people. In small groups, and through activities, we’ll help young people to identify common issues, aspirations and plan for shared action. There will also be speakers and training around youth voice projects, youth voice structures and opportunities to get involved. Boccia Festival

Boccia Festival

Alford Academy hosted a Boccia Festival on Tuesday 4th March, which was a lot of fun for the participants from the three schools that attended.  6 pupils from Alford Academy took part and they were split into two teams of 3 players, they played against each other as well as 3 other matches.  There was also skill stations provided for the pupils to practice their accuracy.  This was a really engaging and fun event for our pupils, who challenged themselves in a friendly and supportive environment.  A big thanks to Kerry from Active Schools for organising the event!
